We have grown month-on-month, and we want to continue building Perfekt in a way that is affordable but with no compromise to the quality of food or our service. I want to take a couple of moments to walk you through our plan for the near future in sight – ranging from product updates to pricing information.

What is in this letter?
This letter contains some very important information about the changes that are due soon.
We understand that a number of things are not relavant for a customer per se but we want to keep all our pet parents and prospective customers/pet parents in the loop about these changes.
The main points covered are:

Improved Product Protfolio
Feedback from you, our valued customers, is the cornerstone of our product development. Based on your insights, we have adjusted the formulations to enhance mealtime enjoyment.
- A notable change is in batch 7735810022024, where we have removed soya from our Simple and Essential Series to improve taste and overall enjoyability. Our Prime series remains unchanged except for the Turkey variant, where soya is retained for caloric density purposes. This decision stems from our belief that soya was diluting the taste and impacting the enjoyment of our foods.
- Development of 2 new meat protein-based products is underway. One is mutton and the other is a surprise flavour to be revealed soon.
Puppy food now gets the required calcium from 100% natural sources i.e. from in-house made eggshell membrane and shell fine powder. This has the benefit of natural balance between calcium and phosphorous without external intervention.
The Essential All Ages Complete Vegetarian has received a good amount of feedback and we have worked on the flavor and texture profile of the same for improved palatability. We are confident that the newer batch will have a much happier reaction from pet parents.
A new variant in fish has been introduced – Simple Adult Fish and Vegetables – to help with protein rotation and flavor alteration on the more cost-efficient side.
PRODUCT TITLE
Transportation and Packaging Enhacements
Firstly, we acknowledge the rise in transportation charges, an external factor beyond our control. Please know we are actively seeking better contracts to manage these costs efficiently.
- We've moved away from bags to boxes for non-local (Hyderabad) order
- We've changed it from 3 ply to 5 ply boxes
- We've moved from thin flute to thick flute helping in box stability
- Previously boxes weighed about 120-150 grams but they now weight about 350-480 grams
This change ensures that the pouches reach you in pristine condition, safeguarded against damage and harmful harsh excessive direct sunlight.
The boxes also allow for easy storage and handling at home.
Backend Process Upgrades
Our commitment to improving your shopping experience has led us to upgrade our backend processes significantly. Enhancements include
- Better order management
- Quicker chat support
- Faster and easier payment processing
- Subscriptions for regular orders
- Automated preferred address from your other orders at other stores
- Amazon for complete COD purchase
Expansion into New Channels
Understanding the need for immediate access to our products, we are entering new offline channels in select cities beginning with Hyderabad. This expansion aims to provide pet parents with faster and broader access to our goods, making it easier for you to find and purchase what you need, when you need it.
We will also be working on building our presence Amazon to help reach a wider network of pet parents. Amazon will also provide COD options that we may or may not provide on our own website.
Economics and Pricing Changes
As many companies do, we also are reviewing our pricing to reflect the costs we have faced and are to face in the coming future. These factors have pressured our sustainability and fair pricing, necessitating adjustments to ensure your brand's continued growth and the quality of our products.
Multiple factors such as inflated vegetable prices, a more than 200% increase in the cost of chicken, sustained high transportation charges, a general standard inflation in the country, increased wages, and increasing team size all contribute to higher costs over which we have close to minimal or no control.
We believe the pricing changes will support our long-term vision of delivering the highest quality products to you and your pets.
Pricing change, subscription plans, and other details will be announced soon. We are expecting it to be by the end of February. Please stay tuned for the update here.

Changes to COD
We have categorically decided that we will now push all COD orders to our Amazon page.
On our website we list our products at a discount of 30% on the MRP. However, this means that they are prepaid order only.
All Amazon purchases are at MRP.

Food Availability Guarantee - Through Subscriptions
This part is still under development. We are looking at now building automated subscriptions that will ensure that you have a priority in purchasing food.
We will set aside the portion of food that you require but this needs to be backed up by automated payments that will happen on regular intervals.
This will ensure that you do not face an "Out of Stock" issue like a number of pet parents have experienced with the recently out of stock Essential All Ages Complete Vegetarian, and Essential Adult Chicken and Vegetables.
